Blues in Mind / Oil on Canvas

A letter box format to show as much of the length of musical instrument being played. The expression of movement displayed to arrest a note from the players imagination and instrument is on display here. This painting forms part of the Exhibition known as ”  That’s Jazz” , a travelling show by Trevor. The player emerges from a dark inky background of colours reminiscent of classicism. The dominant lighter colours on the subject take preference and become more saturated. The link between the players mind and his instrument becomes self evident in this unique piece.
