Collective is a large Oil painting at 30″ x 24″ showing a group  of various roses in a bouquet-like order. The spiral formation keeps the viewers eye entertained as it weaves through the composition finally ending up at the smaller rose with a yellowish centre. The dark ground plays the key role here, throwing the lighter flowers into relief. This dramatic work is certainly an eye-catcher, with energetic bold strokes of paint that bring the whole canvas alive with movement. Painted in the artist’s studio 2018. ” I wanted to show the chaos of nature but also have some aesthetic order going on underneath it, something a little more than just pleasing, you know maybe some wildness”.
