Description

A large watercolour by Trevor of Essaouira, Morocco done on a full sheet of Watercolour Paper. Essaouira positioned on the Moroccan coastline is an ancient port town originally used by pirates needing a safe haven off the Isles of Mogador. The whole town was originally updated by a French architect who was held captive there and redesigned it. The whole place is so mysterious and enigmatic that it has often been used as a filming location for some Hollywood movies , most notably Orson Welles ” Othello ” filmed there between 1949 – 1951.
